One of the charms of Gakusei Kaikan Dormy is the food.
At Dormy, in order to please our residents,
we prepare each dish by hand with all our heart.
With "Fun and Delicious" as our motto,
we incorporate "seasonal ingredients" to provide breakfast and dinner
that you’ll never grow tired of.
In our "Dormy Dining Hall" series, we introduce the actual
monthly special menus and recommended dishes served at Dormy.
Autumn is deepening, and the season has become chilly.
At this month's Dormy Dining Hall, we served dishes full of seasonal flair
and hearty meals where the Dormitory Mother's ideas truly shine.
Here are five featured menu items for this month!

Chicken Dog
Served for breakfast on Wednesday, October 1st,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide (excluding some locations).
From the idea contest themed "I stuffed this kind of OO into a bun,"
the "Chicken Dog," which won the Tokyo Metropolitan Area Excellence Award,
makes its debut.
Savory grilled chicken is coated in a special sweet and spicy sauce
and sandwiched in a soft bun with crunchy cabbage.
It is a voluminous dish, perfect for days when you want a hearty meal!
*What is the "My Cooking Idea Contest"?
It is an annual contest where-Dormitory Managers / Dormitory Mothers
from Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide compete with their original recipes.
Last year's theme was "I stuffed this kind of OO into a bun,"
and various "sandwich" ideas were gathered from across the country.

Shiratama Mizu-Yokan
Served for dinner on Monday, October 6th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide.
A Japanese dessert created for the Harvest Moon.
On top of the smooth and silky Mizu-Yokan (soft bean jelly),
we added chewy Shiratama dango and sweet potato, a taste of autumn.
It is a visually beautiful dish that allows you to enjoy the season.
It was very popular as a post-dinner dessert!

Miso Katsu
Served for dinner on Thursday, October 9th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide.
From our "Taste Tour Across Japan" project where you can enjoy local specialties,
Nagoya’s famous Miso Katsu makes its appearance.
On a crispy pork cutlet, we generously poured
a rich miso sauce made with Hatcho Miso from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
It goes perfectly with rice and is a flavor that makes you want seconds!

Chicken Nugget Pita Sandwich
Served for breakfast on Friday, October 17th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide.
Following the "Chicken Dog,"
this is another idea menu that won the Excellence Award,
created by the Dormitory Mother of Dormy Nakanoshima.
Combining chicken nuggets with a mildly tangy aurora sauce,
this pita sandwich has an addictive, well-balanced flavor.
The convenience of eating it with one hand is also a highlight.

Pumpkin Cake
Served for dinner on Friday, October 31st,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide.
A limited-edition Halloween dessert menu.
In honor of Halloween, which originated in Europe,
we prepared a moist cake made with pumpkin.
It is a dessert where you can enjoy the taste of autumn
and get into the Halloween spirit.
