The “Dormy Resident Survey 2025” gathered responses

from 4,826 Dormy student residents across Japan.

This time, we are introducing survey results

focused on one of the most essential parts of Dormy life: meals!

 

We collected real feedback about daily dining life,

including satisfaction ratings, favorite dishes,

menu requests, and suggestions for improvement.

Here, we share both the strengths and challenges of Dormy meals

through the voices of residents themselves.

Q. What do you like most about the meals

at your Dormy residence?

 

Many residents expressed appreciation and satisfaction

with their daily meals in the free-response section.

Residents also highly valued the nutritional balance and warmth of the meals.

Many commented on the reassurance of having nutritionally balanced meals while living alone,

as well as the comfort of enjoying a warm meal immediately after returning home.

Hearty dishes such as fried foods and rice bowls,

as well as familiar favorites like curry and udon,

were especially popular among residents.

Q. What improvements or future menu items

would you like to see at your Dormy residence?

Many residents expressed a desire for even more variety in the menu lineup.

In addition to requests for new dishes, residents also shared opinions

about seasonal menus, serving frequency, portion sizes, and presentation.

Among the meals students would like to see in the future,

familiar and satisfying dishes such as ramen, omurice, sushi,

and pizza were frequently mentioned.

Regional dishes such as okonomiyaki also received support,

showing that residents enjoy experiencing variety and excitement through food.

These requests reflect residents’ strong interest in and attachment to their daily meals,

providing valuable insights for future menu planning at Dormy.

Using Residents’ Voices to Improve Dormy Meals

 

This survey revealed that many residents highly value

the nutritional balance, taste, and warmth of Dormy meals.

At the same time,

we also received many valuable suggestions regarding menu variety,

serving hours, and allergy labeling.

At Dormy, we will continue building on these strengths

while sincerely addressing areas for improvement,

creating an environment where residents can enjoy their daily meals even more.
