One of the greatest attractions of Student Dormitory Dormy is the food.
To bring joy to our residents,
each and every meal is handmade with love and care.
With the motto of making dining "fun and delicious,"
we incorporate seasonal ingredients to provide breakfast and dinner
that you will never grow tired of.
In this "Dormy Cafeteria" series,
we introduce the actual monthly spot menus and recommended dishes served at Dormy.
In January 2026,
Dormy features a heartwarming lineup,
ranging from traditional seasonal meals celebrating the start of the new year
to supportive dishes designed to fuel students taking on crucial exams.

Zenzai
(Sweet Red Bean Soup with Mochi)
Served during dinner on Friday,
January 9th at Student Dormitory Dormy nationwide
(with some exceptions).
A Sweet and Warm Winter Treat
A deeply seasonal dessert inspired by "Kagami Biraki" on January 11th.
Featuring aromatically toasted mochi,
this sweet red bean soup offers a comforting,
soothing sweetness perfect for a cold day.
Enjoy a warm,
cozy moment while partaking in a Japanese tradition
that wishes for good health and longevity.

Exam Student Support Menu:
Pork Fillet Cutlet (Hirekatsu) with Grated Daikon Sauce
Served during dinner on Friday,
January 16th at Student Dormitory Dormy nationwide
(with some exceptions).
Eat and win! A Dish for Exam Success
Playing on the word "Katsu"
(which means both cutlet and victory),
this good-luck fillet cutlet is served with a refreshing,
easy-to-digest grated daikon radish sauce.
It is a dish designed to prepare both mind and body
before the big day.
Shrimp Cutlet Burger & Egg Salad Sandwich
Served during breakfast (Western option) on Thursday,
January 22nd at Student Dormitory Dormy nationwide
(with some exceptions).
Full Power from the Morning!
A mini-burger featuring a plump,
crispy shrimp cutlet sandwiched in a wheat germ roll.
The spicy sauce, built on a "spicy garlic sauce" base, delivers a kick
that is sure to energize you right from the start of the day.
It pairs beautifully with the mellow, creamy egg salad sandwich.
This dish won the Tokyo Metropolitan Area Excellence Award
in the "My Cooking Idea Contest."
*What is the "My Cooking Idea Contest"?
This is an annual contest where dormitory managers and housemothers
from Dormy residences across the country compete with their original recipes.
Last year's theme was "Can You Believe We Sandwiched This inside Bread?!",
drawing a wide variety of unique sandwiching ideas from all over Japan.
Nori-Kyu (Seaweed & Cucumber) Bread & Chicken Teriyaki Bread
Served during breakfast (Western option) on Friday,
January 30th at Student Dormitory Dormy nationwide
(with some exceptions).
An Exquisite Harmony of East Meets West Layered with crunchy cucumber,
aromatic nori seaweed, and smooth sliced cheese,
the "Nori-Kyu Bread" is a new-sensation sandwich
that blends Japanese and Western styles.
The chicken teriyaki adds a hearty volume,
making it incredibly satisfying.
This award-winning creation was thought up by Mr. Matsudo,
the dormitory manager of Dormy Shimo-Akatsuka,
who took home the Tokyo Metropolitan Area Excellence Award.
