We would like to introduce "Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi,"
which is highly recommended for commuting to Kyushu University's Ito Campus
and for starting your very first solo living experience in Fukuoka!

What is Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi?
Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi is an 11-story student dormitory featuring 166 rooms,
located right in front of Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station on the JR Chikuhi Line
(which offers direct through-service to the Fukuoka City Subway Kuko Line)
in Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City.
It opened in April 2011.

Kyudai-Gakkentoshi is located about 10 km west of central Fukuoka.
The station opened in 2005 as the gateway to the "Ito Campus,"
which was created to integrate and relocate Kyushu University's campuses
that were previously scattered across Fukuoka City.
Since then, the surrounding area has developed rapidly.
The station is about 4 km away from Kyushu University's Ito Campus,
and they are connected by local buses in about 10 to 15 minutes.
○Building & Floors
An 11-story reinforced concrete building.
The 2nd floor features the main entrance, management office,
dining room where meals are served, and a lounge space.
Residential rooms are located from the 2nd to the 11th floor.
It is a co-ed dormitory,
but the 10th floor is exclusively for female students
(as of December 2023).
The 1st floor features a secure, auto-locking bicycle parking lot.
Motorbikes / scooters can also be parked in designated areas.
○Shared Facilities

Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room
from Monday to Saturday.
The space includes both standard tables and counter seating.
In addition, a lounge space is set up continuously with the dining room,
which residents can use freely.
It is a lively hub where students can be seen chatting with friends,
studying, or meeting up before heading to the university together.
Vending machines and microwaves are also available.

A resident dormitory manager and dormitory mother are permanently stationed
at the management office.
They handle parcel deliveries
when you are out and lend out household equipment
such as vacuum cleaners and irons.
They are always there to support you
if you feel unwell or have any concerns about daily life.
Residents can also easily chat with the dormitory manager and dormitory mother
through the resident support app, "Domico."
Domico is a daily life support app
that allows you to apply for overnight stays, reserve or cancel meals,
and receive updates on events and exclusive offers restricted to residents.
○Private Rooms
Although the rooms are cozy at 16.8 m²,
they come fully equipped with all the necessary furniture and appliances you need.
The furniture includes a bed (slatted base), desk,
chair, mobile drawer unit, and a desk lamp.
Curtains are also included from the start.
Appliances include lighting fixtures, an air conditioner,
a 2-door refrigerator, and a washing machine.
It has a standalone vanity,
and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet.
You can also dry your laundry on the balcony,
offering a layout almost identical to a standard studio apartment.
In addition, each room is equipped with its own private Wi-Fi.
○Surrounding Environment

Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi is located right in front of Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station.
Directly adjacent to Dormy is a bus rotary,
where buses bound for the Kyudai Ito Campus depart.
Being able to hop on a bus almost immediately
after stepping outside makes commuting incredibly convenient.

On the opposite side of the station (South Exit),
you will find "Aeon Mall Fukuoka Ito,"
which stocks everything from groceries and daily necessities
to furniture and household goods.
Many residents move into Dormy with minimal luggage
and simply buy what they need at Aeon after arriving.
The Nishi Ward Office branch is also located near the south exit,
making official procedures like moving-in registrations quick and easy.
The station area is beautifully organized and features a wide array of chain stores,
including convenience stores, drugstores, cafes, electronics major retailers,
family restaurants, and conveyor-belt sushi.
It is a perfect environment for effortless daily living.
[Advantages of Living in Front of Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station
Instead of Around Ito Campus]
Since the opening of the Kyudai Ito Campus,
the areas surrounding both Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station and the Ito Campus
itself have seen rapid development,
with an increasing number of student apartments
and meal-inclusive student dormitories.
While living within walking distance of the campus sounds ideal,
let us share the distinct advantages of choosing the Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station area instead.
Please use this as a reference point for comparison beyond just the distance to campus.
1.Incredible Daily Convenience with Endless Shops Nearby
The area surrounding Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station
has flourished since its opening in 2005,
and as mentioned in the surrounding environment section,
it is now home to massive commercial facilities like Aeon and many shops.
On the other hand,
the area directly surrounding Ito Campus only began serious development
around the completion of the campus relocation project in 2018.
While it has several convenience stores, supermarkets, dining options,
and daily goods shops are still limited and only just starting to increase.
An environment where your daily life outside of university
can be fully managed on foot gives you great peace of mind,
offering benefits such as being able to go shopping immediately
whenever you want and experiencing less inconvenience even on rainy days.
2. A Massive Advantage for Finding Part-Time Jobs
More shops mean more job opportunities,
which gives you the advantage of being able to choose a part-time job close to your home.
With the number of businesses around Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station growing every year,
you will not have much trouble finding a part-time job.
3. Direct, Quick Access to Central Fukuoka

The JR Chikuhi Line links directly into the Fukuoka City Subway Kuko Line,
which gives you the advantage of traveling to central downtown hubs
like Tenjin, Hakata Station, and Fukuoka Airport without a single transfer!
The travel time is 24 minutes to Tenjin,
30 minutes to Hakata,
and 35 minutes to Fukuoka Airport.
Whether you are heading out for the weekend or catching a bullet train or flight back home
for a visit or vacation,
traveling is entirely easy.
[The Top Advantages of Choosing Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi]
Based on everything we have covered so far,
let us share the specific advantages of choosing Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi.
1. Save the Hassle of Moving with Fully Furnished Rooms!
Buy What You Need in the Surrounding Area♪
The window between the announcement of passing exams in early March
and moving in in late March is incredibly tight.
Finding an apartment, buying furniture,
and setting up appliances during this hectic period can be extremely difficult.
At Dormy, everything is ready for you in advance,
so you do not have to worry about that hassle.
You can move in with minimal luggage
and buy the rest at your own pace at the nearby Aeon Mall or surrounding stores,
allowing you to welcome your new life with peace of mind.
2. Make Friends and Get Insider Tips from Upperclassmen easily.
Since its opening in 2011,
Dormy Kyudai-Gakkentoshi has welcomed a total of over 1,500 Kyushu University students.
At Dormy, you will live alongside peers from your own year
as well as many upperclassmen from Kyushu University.
We host a Welcome Event for freshmen in April,
giving you the perfect chance to get to know your classmates as well as seniors.
You can exchange valuable information about classes, course registration,
assignments, exams, clubs, team sports, and part-time jobs,
placing yourself in an environment
where you can easily enrich your university life.
3. An Easy Transition into Your First Solo Living Experience
Transitioning from a busy exam-prep lifestyle straight into university
while managing cooking and all house chores by yourself
can be overwhelmingly difficult.
At Dormy, you can get well-balanced meals daily,
reducing the risk of falling ill.
Outsourcing meals—the most difficult, time-consuming part of living alone—
allows you to effectively use
that extra time to focus on assignments or enjoy your hobbies.
Many students use Dormy to get used to independent living little by little for 1–2 years
before moving out into a standard apartment.
If you are hesitating between a standard apartment and a dorm,
starting at Dormy and moving later is a highly recommended option.
4. Enjoy the Ultimate Fukuoka Lifestyle
As one of Japan's major cities and a vibrant gateway to East Asia,
Fukuoka's population has been growing, and its popularity is booming.
You can experience the latest shops and trends,
and enjoy world-class local gourmet food around Hakata Station and Tenjin,
which are just a short train ride away.
To the west lies Itoshima City,
where part of the university campus is located;
it is a beautiful coastal region rich in nature that is growing in popularity
as a resort destination close to the city center.
Experiencing a student life where you can enjoy both
vibrant city energy and stunning nature
in a convenient location is truly unique.
[Changing Campuses?
Easily Move to a Nearby Dormy!]
The Dormy network includes more than 10 locations
across the Fukuoka area.
