One of the charms of Gakusei Kaikan Dormy is the food.
At Dormy, in order to please our residents,
we prepare each dish by hand with all our heart.
With "Fun and Delicious" as our motto,
we incorporate "seasonal ingredients"
to provide breakfast and dinner that you’ll never grow tired of.
In our "Dormy Dining Hall" series,
we introduce the actual monthly special menus
and recommended dishes served at Dormy.
In November, a series of creative dishe
featuring surprising ingredients sandwiched in bread
will make their debut!
Furthermore, there is a lineup of must-try menus,
from autumn flavors like Pacific saury to exquisite Kyoto cuisine.
This month as well,
let’s stay healthy in both mind and body
with Dormy's nutritionally balanced meals.

Chiku-Dog
Served for dinner on Friday, November 7th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide
(excluding some locations).
Chikuwa in bread!?
An exquisite harmony of Japanese and Western flavors.
From the idea contest themed
"I stuffed this kind of OO into a bun,"
the "Chiku-Dog," created by the Dormitory Mother of Dormy Bunkyodai
and winner of the Sapporo Branch Excellence Award, makes its appearance.
Crispy grilled chikuwa is filled with plenty of mild tuna mayo,
with fresh tomatoes added to the mix.
The savoriness of the chikuwa, the richness of the tuna mayo,
and the acidity of the tomato unite in this dish full of surprises and deliciousness.
*What is the "My Cooking Idea Contest"?
It is an annual contest
where Dormitory Managers / Dormitory Mothers from Gakusei Kaikan Dormy
nationwide compete with their original recipes.
Last year's theme was "I stuffed this kind of OO into a bun,"
and various "sandwich" ideas were gathered from across the country.

Salt-Grilled Pacific Saury
Served for dinner on Friday, November 13th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide
(excluding some locations).
Bringing seasonal flavors straight to your table.
Fresh Pacific saury direct from Onagawa!
Pacific saury, which reaches its peak in autumn,
is shipped directly from the fishing port in Onagawa, Miyagi Prefecture.
We served this fatty, fresh saury grilled with salt until savory.
Please enjoy the quality of the ingredients
that can only be truly tasted through such simplicity.

“Salad Pan” and Ham & Tomato Sandwich
Served for dinner on Thursday, November 20th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide
(excluding some locations).
Pickled radish x Mayonnaise!?
The unexpectedly delicious "Salad Pan."
"Salad Pan," a popular treat in the Kansai region
made with chopped takuan (pickled radish) and mayonnaise,
arrives at the Dormy table!
The crunchy texture of the takuan and the richness of the mayonnaise
harmonize perfectly in this addictive dish.
A fresh ham and tomato sandwich is also served as part of the set.
It is a highly satisfying bread menu
that allows you to enjoy different flavors.
This menu was born from the idea of Dormitory Mother
Takemura from Dormy Narimasu,
who won the Tokyo Metropolitan Area Excellence Award
in the "My Cooking Idea Contest"!

Agedashi Namafu
(Deep-fried Wheat Gluten)
Served for dinner on Tuesday, November 25th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide
(excluding some locations).
An elegant and delicate masterpiece filled with Kyoto tradition.
Namafu, loved for its chewy texture,
is fried until crisp and soaked gently in a mild dashi broth.
It offers a delicate flavor unique to Kyoto cuisine,
with a beautiful presentation.
It is a heart-warming dish perfect for the colder season.

Baked Curry Bread
Served for dinner on Wednesday, November 26th,
at Gakusei Kaikan Dormy nationwide
(excluding some locations).
A new sensation of bread baked with homemade curry and cheese!
Spicy homemade curry and rich cheese
are placed on sliced bread and baked to a golden brown.
The crispy texture and the savory aroma of the cheese are a perfect match.
This dish is well-reputed for being delicious even when cold.
This menu was created by the Dormitory Mother of Dormy Hyakumanben,
who won the Kyoto Branch Excellence Award in the "My Cooking Idea Contest."
It is an inventive idea menu that adds a little fun to daily meals.
